In 2015, the weekly Seven Days interviewed former board member John Donald, who said for decades the foundation was “a backroom operation with a limited budget” dedicated to preserving Coolidge’s boyhood home in Plymouth Notch, Vermont. The Calvin Coolidge Presidential Foundation was founded in 1960 by President Calvin Coolidge’s son, John Coolidge, as the Calvin Coolidge Memorial Foundation. The foundation funds programs which include full-ride college scholarships, hosts an annual debate series, and preserves, collects, and promotes President Coolidge’s writings. The Calvin Coolidge Presidential Foundation is a nonprofit that seeks to honor the memory of Calvin Coolidge, who served as President of the United States from 1923-29.
